According to railway rules, the sleeping time in reserved coaches is from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. This means that passengers in the middle berth can open their seats after 10:00 pm and sleep comfortably.

If a passenger in the middle berth wants to sleep after 10:00 pm, passengers in the lower berths cannot refuse. This is considered the official rest time. All passengers are expected to respect this time.

However, after 6:00 am, it is mandatory to close the middle berth so that passengers in the lower berths can rest comfortably. Leaving the middle berth open during the day is against the rules and may cause inconvenience to other passengers.
