Hisar : The All Haryana Petroleum Dealers Association to sought urgent police action in a case involving an alleged demand for Rs 5 crore from petrol pump owner Pramod Goyal , his brother Anand Goyal , and Anand’s son Anirudh Goyal .




A delegation of the association’s Hisar and Hansi units met superintendent of police Siddhant Jain and demanded the early arrest of those responsible, along with security for the affected family. The association has given the police time until Monday to demonstrate concrete progress, warning that it would convene a meeting to decide its next course of action if its demands were not met.




District president Rajkumar Salemgarh said the reported threats to Anand Goyal’s family had caused anxiety among members of the business community. He claimed that threats had allegedly extended to family members, including children, and said the matter required prompt and effective action to restore traders’ confidence in their safety.




Salemgarh also questioned the pace of the investigation, saying no significant breakthrough had been made public so far. The delegation raised its concerns with the SP, who assured the members that appropriate action would be taken.




According to association representatives, police have detained five to seven suspects for questioning. Responding to concerns that the threatening calls were allegedly being made from international or fake numbers, Salemgarh said the police had the resources to trace those responsible and urged them to treat the case with urgency.




He said the association would meet again if there was no tangible progress by Monday, and could take a stronger stand. He added that the responsibility for any such escalation would lie with the police and administration. The delegation that met the SP included association secretary Nukul Aggarwal, treasurer Ashok Jain and Pawan Goyal, along with other petroleum dealers. The representatives reiterated their demand for swift action and adequate protection for traders and their families.
