Infanta Sofía, 19, drew attention during a royal family gathering in Palma de Mallorca after stepping out in a summer dress previously worn by both her mother, Queen Letizia, and her older sister, Princess Leonor.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, the younger daughter of King Felipe VI wore the familiar dress during the Aug. 8 gathering. The off-the-shoulder white maxi dress features bold cobalt-blue patterns, which Sofía paired with white espadrilles and metallic bracelets for a relaxed summer look.

The dress has already made several appearances within the Spanish royal family.

Queen Letizia first wore the design in August 2023 at a reception at Marivent Palace, the royal family’s traditional summer residence in Mallorca. She styled it with white wedge heels.

Two years later, in August 2025, Princess Leonor, heir to the Spanish throne, borrowed the same dress from her mother’s wardrobe. She gave the look a youthful touch with gold earrings and navy wedges.

Sofía’s appearance marks the third time the same dress has been worn by the three royal women, with each giving it a slightly different interpretation while maintaining its summery Mediterranean feel.

Sofía, who is second in line to the Spanish throne, has recently joined her parents and sister at several official summer events in Mallorca.

Sharing and rewearing clothes is common among the women of Spain’s royal family, according to The Telegraph. Leonor has frequently borrowed pieces from her mother, while Letizia is known for choosing versatile outfits that can be worn on multiple occasions rather than reserved for a single appearance.

The family’s habit of exchanging and reusing clothes also allows the younger royals to develop their own style while promoting a more sustainable approach to royal fashion.
