Who will get scrapping incentive?

The benefit of scrapping incentive will be available to those people who scrap their BS-IV or older petrol or diesel cars. You cannot avail discount on this alone, along with this you will also have to buy a new electric car with an ex-showroom price of Rs 30 lakh. After accepting this condition you will be eligible to avail scrapping incentive. If you are buying a new car, then you will not need to pay registration fees and road tax for the car. This means that along with the scraping incentive, you will also get a lot of benefits in other ways.

How to claim scrappage incentive?

If you want to take advantage of scrappage incentive, then first get the old car scrapped. You will have to get the car scrapped at a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF). For this, you can apply on Transport vScrap Portal with the help of vehicle registration number and Aadhaar. After this you will have to take Certificate of Deposit (CoD) and this certificate will be valid for 6 months only. Along with this, you will also have to buy a new electric car. Now you have to login to Delhi EV Incentive Portal and upload all the documents.
