Rohit Sharma: Indian opener Rohit Sharma was run-out in the first ODI match played between India and Afghanistan in Dharamshala.



Rohit Sharma: The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and Afghanistan was played on Saturday at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, Dharamshala. In this match, former Indian captain Rohit Sharma became the victim of runout. In this match, Rohit was out after scoring 16 runs in 16 balls.

Captain Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma came to open for the Indian team chasing the target of 195 runs given by Afghanistan. AM Ghazanfar came to bowl the fifth over during India’s innings. Rohit Sharma played the fourth ball of this over with light hands and ran fast to score runs. However, Shubman Gill present at the other end was watching the ball and got caught behind the follow-through of the bowler.


Gill signaled Rohit to return, but it was too late as Rohit had reached the middle of the pitch. Rashid showed agility and threw the ball towards the bowler and the bowler quickly threw it towards the keeper, who dropped the bails. The umpire sent the decision to the third umpire to investigate the run-out, but by then Rohit had gone back to the pavilion.



Afghanistan gave a target of 195 runs


After losing the toss and batting first, Afghanistan scored 194 runs in the stipulated 25 overs on the basis of Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s century. Gurbaz scored 102 runs in 51 balls in this match, which included 8 fours and 8 sixes. Apart from them, Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 27 runs in 30 balls and Azmatullah Omarzai scored 26 runs in 16 balls for Afghanistan. Harsh Dubey and Gurnoor Brar, who were debuting in this match for India, bowled brilliantly and took 3 wickets each. Apart from this, Arshdeep Singh and Nitish Kumar Reddy got 2 successes each.
