Weather Update: Amidst the scorching heat, people across the country have got great relief. After the sudden change in the weather pattern, heavy rains along with strong winds have given relief to the people at many places. According to the Meteorological Department, similar conditions may persist in many states of the country for two more days.

Actually, the southwest monsoon is slowly advancing and may reach the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and many parts of Northeast India in the next two to three days. Meanwhile, strong storm and heavy rain completely changed the weather in West Bengal’s capital Kolkata and many districts of South Bengal on Friday. Due to this, darkness prevailed in many areas during the day.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of severe thunderstorm and rain in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. Stormy winds can blow at a speed of 80 to 100 kilometers per hour in Bihar. There has also been a warning of strong dust storm in Western Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. There is a possibility of hailstorm in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. There is a possibility of rain with thunder in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh also.
