Iyer has been impressive as a player and captain. Then the respect and place they deserve. Perhaps that was not given to him, which other players got easily.

Shreyas Iyer’s career in cricket has been full of ups and downs. Initially, Iyer was criticized for the fact that he was seen struggling in front of the bouncer. But, he worked hard on this weakness and improved his technique. Meanwhile, injuries continued to hinder his career. Then in the ODI World Cup, Iyer silenced the critics with his bat. After which Iyer was dropped from the team due to differences with BCCI. Then when he got a chance in the Champions Trophy, he won everyone’s hearts with his aggressive batting. However, despite aggressive batting, he did not get a chance in the T20 World Cup.

Shreyas Iyer has had a very brilliant career in IPL and currently he is at the peak of his career. Where no one can match him in batting and captaincy. But, Iyer, the only captain to lead three different franchises to the finals in the IPL, was underestimated. In 2020, under his captaincy, Delhi Capitals reached the finals. Then due to injury he could not play the next season and the captaincy was handed over to Rishabh Pant.

However, after Iyer’s return, Delhi Capitals did not show interest in him. After which KKR made Iyer the captain in 2024 and the team won the title that season. But, in the next season, KKR took a surprising decision and let Iyer go to Punjab Kings. Punjab Kings team reached the finals after a long time under the captaincy of Iyer. In the current season, Punjab has played 5 matches and is on top of the points table after winning 4 matches. During this period one match remained inconclusive.
