Dominik Szoboszlai has been one of the few bright sparks in what's turned out to be an underwhelming season for Liverpool. Having waltzed their way to the title last time around, the expectation was that Arne Slot and co. would win the Premier League again.

That hasn't turned out to be true, and while circumstances out of their control surrounding the death of Diogo Jota have played a part in that, it will go down as a disappointing Premier League campaign for the defending champions. But could things be about to get even worse for the Anfield outfit?

That would certainly be the case if Szoboszlai were to depart the club, with eagle-eyed social media users spotting a clue that could suggest it might happen. It all surrounds talk of a move to Real Madrid, something Szoboszlai is said to have dreamt about since he was young.

Los Blancos superstar Vinicius Junior recently gifted the Liverpool ace a fresh pair of boots as a present. Now, this could easily be an innocent act between two close friends, after all, Vinicius did reveal earlier this season that he's good pals with the Hungarian international.

However, a social media post from 433, which hinted the versatile midfielder could be tempted by a move to Real Madrid, was liked by Szoboszlai's Instagram account. His actions might raise eyebrows among Liverpool fans, given the previous talk about Real Madrid.

One slide of the post included quotes from the Hungary national team manager, who recently said: "Due to the very close and direct relationship I have had with Dominik Szoboszlai since he started playing football as a child, Real Madrid has always been his dream. Since he started playing football, Dominik has had only one dream: to play for Real Madrid."

However, Rossi did add that he isn't sure whether a move will end up materialising, adding: "I don't know if he will be able to take that step, because the decision depends on him and also on his club. The idea that is always on your mind is to fulfil your dream and make it a reality, and, from my point of view, that is the only and most important thought that can dominate Dominik's mind.

"However, I do not rule out the possibility of him staying at Liverpool and renewing his contract there, especially as he is highly valued within the club. He is a very important player for Liverpool, and Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world."

Szoboszlai's social media activity is most likely an innocuous sign of appreciation with nothing to read into it but Liverpool fans may still be worried about losing another key player to Real Madrid in the coming years.
