Shreyas Iyer has now moved up to seventh overall in the updated rankings for T20I batsmen. There are now four Indian players in the top 10 – Kishan (first), Abhishek Sharma (second), Iyer (seventh) and Tilak Verma (tenth) – who are from the current ICC Men's T20 World Cup champion team and are at the top of the batting rankings in the shorter format. Apart from this, West Indies batsman Sherfane Rutherford has the advantage of scoring a half-century in the first match against India. Rutherford has moved up 10 places to No. 37.

On the other hand, there have been many big changes at the top of the rankings for T20I bowlers. Pakistani spinner Abrar Ahmed has lost his spot as the No. 1 bowler to Afghanistan's Rashid Khan after the Asian Games, while three new players have joined the top 10 in a busy week for the shortest format of cricket. India's spinner Akshar Patel has moved up 16 places to number seven, while Bangladesh's Nasum Ahmed has moved up three places to number eight and Mahedi Hasan has moved up 10 places to number nine.
