Akhilesh Yadav demanded the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing the Election Commission of bias. Akhilesh Yadav said, “The Election Commission is not impartial and is not working as per the constitution. The Election Commission seems to be working for the BJP since the BJP came to power. The elections in West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh were messed up.”
At present, heavy police presence and paramilitary forces have been deployed around Akashvani Bhawan and Nirwachan Sadan. Several workers of NSUI and Indian Youth Congress have also been detained by the police.
