Investigation Underway After Student's Death

A 20-year-old student was discovered hanging in a private lodge in Ranchi on Sunday, according to police reports. The deceased has been identified as Swati Kumari, hailing from Sasaram district in Bihar. She was residing in a lodge located in the Jagannathpur police jurisdiction.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rakesh Ranjan stated, “At first glance, this appears to be a case of suicide. The student was pursuing higher education at a private institution and lived in a lodge. She was originally from Sasaram, Bihar.”

A forensic team has been dispatched to investigate the incident. The student was approximately 20 years old, and an unnatural death case has been registered at the Jagannathpur police station.

The body has been sent to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for a post-mortem examination, and the family of the student has been informed about the tragic event.

Authorities indicated that the exact cause of death will be determined following the post-mortem report. Additionally, the victim's mobile phone has been seized, and the investigation is ongoing.
